Urban Planner/Community Development
List of Post-secondary programs in Geography offered in Canada
- Demographic Analysis - Ryerson University
Requirements: OSSD with six Grade 12 U or M credits with a minimum grade of 70 percent, or equivalent, or mature student status with relevant work experience.
I really like the part where it mentions that students will have an opportunity to engage in “real-world” demographic analysis.
Urban Studies - York University
Requirements: students must complete 24 credits from a list of approved urban studies courses and the cumulative grade point average in these 24 credits must be 5.00 (C+) or higher.
I feel like this course is one of my favourites, because students get to do design, community engagement, policy analysis and government processes.
Environmental Earth Sciences - University of Saskatchewan
Requirements: six Grade 12 U or M credits with a minimum grade of 75 percent.
This course sounds interesting. I like that It explores the relationships, both modern and ancient, of Earth, the atmosphere, the oceans, and the biosphere.
Conservation - UVIC
Requirements: six grade 12 Academic courses (including at least 3 sciences) with a minimum of 75 percent.
I really like that this course has abundant outdoor activities, because you get to interact with the world that you are studying.
Remote Sensing - UVIC
Requirements: six grade 12 Academic courses (including at least 3 sciences) with a minimum of 75 percent. The “E” grade and supplemental examinations are not offered.
To be honest, I have no idea what remote sensing is, but just by seeing this program's courses I can tell that it is complicated.

The thought of a career in Geography is not very appealing to me, although I think that people who do this for a living are very skilled and they definitely are essential for the growth in our society.
